ER — Emotional Release is an anonymous five-minute conversation platform for adults 18+. It is peer support, not therapy, medical care, or emergency services.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

We do not record or store the contents of your conversations. When a session ends, the room closes and message history is not retained.

There are no sign-ups, accounts, or profiles. ER never asks for your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.

Anonymous session metadata: start and end times, whether the session was text or voice, whether your partner was a human or the AI companion, and a random device/session identifier. This is used for safety, abuse prevention, and usage statistics.

Push notification data: if you enable notifications, we store your device's push subscription endpoint so we can alert you when someone needs a listener.

Technical data: standard server and analytics logs such as page views and approximate region, used to keep the service reliable.

To match you with another person in real time.

To enforce safety rules and prevent abuse or repeated harassment.

To understand how many people use ER and improve the service.

To notify available listeners when someone is waiting to talk.

ER includes a screen guard that blurs the conversation when the page loses focus. This is a best-effort privacy aid — no technology can fully prevent screenshots, so please don't share anything you wouldn't want kept.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the service providers that run ER (hosting, database, push delivery, and AI services used when no human listener is available) and when required by law.

Use ER fully anonymously — there is nothing to sign up for.

Clear your browser data at any time to remove the random ID stored on your device.

Disable notifications in your browser or device settings.

Conversation contents: not retained.

Session metadata: kept for a limited period for safety and statistics, then aggregated or deleted.

ER is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date below. Continued use of ER after a change means you accept the updated policy.
